2027: We’re Prepared for Political Sabotage and Internal Betrayal – Malami
Former Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami (SAN), has declared that the newly formed opposition coalition is fully prepared to resist internal sabotage, infiltration, and the challenges posed by personal ambitions as it positions itself to contest the 2027 presidential election.
Speaking in an interview withDaily Trust, Malami acknowledged that coalitions are often vulnerable to betrayal and conflict, but stressed that the alliance is determined to stay united and focused.
“In a political arrangement, you cannot rule out any possibility, including the possibility of infiltration,” Malami said. “But one fundamental thing is, we are resolved to continue, we shall continue, and we shall overcome. We are working to overcome any challenge as it arises.”
The former minister’s remarks come a week after the coalition formally adopted the African Democratic Congress (ADC) as its platform to challenge the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 elections.
Malami, who served under former President Muhammadu Buhari, emphasized that crisis and sabotage are common risks in political collaborations.
“You cannot rule out the possibility of a crisis, you cannot rule out the possibility of infiltration, nor can you rule out all other negative possibilities,” he said. “We are resolved to overcome them. We work in the direction of overcoming them. That is the most fundamental and critical issue about it.”
Responding to concerns about how personal ambition might fracture the alliance, Malami said political ambition is inevitable but must be managed with internal discipline.
“Political engagement includes personal ambitions,” he said. “But the most important thing is how hard you work in managing them. Ambitions are meant to be managed, and we are resolved to manage them as they arise.”
The coalition, which includes major opposition figures like Atiku Abubakar, Peter Obi, Nasir el-Rufai, and Rotimi Amaechi, has generated significant public interest as it attempts to form a united political front to challenge the dominance of the APC in the next election cycle.

2027: Trump want Tinubu Removed, Coalition will Use US Gov. Atiku and Obi may upset Tinubu – AyodeleRewrite only
Primate Elijah Ayodele has warned that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu may lose the 2027 presidential election if key opposition leaders, Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi, join forces, as reported by The Sun on Sunday, 6th July, 2025.
The popular prophet made this statement while unveiling his latest prophecy book, Warnings to the Nations 2025/2026, in Lagos.
Ayodele said both Atiku and Obi are serious about taking power from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
According to him, if the two men form an agreement, they could give Tinubu a strong challenge in 2027.
The prophet also claimed that the planned coalition of opposition parties might gain foreign support, especially from the United States.
He said the coalition would use the US government to mount pressure on Tinubu’s administration.
He went further to say that former U.S. President Donald Trump is one of those backing efforts to remove Tinubu from power.
Ayodele warned that Tinubu must take this threat seriously.
He noted that losing the next election could lead to the complete collapse of the APC.
“Atiku and Obi are very serious and may upset Tinubu if they reach an understanding. The coalition would use the US government to fight Tinubu. Trump is one of those who want Tinubu removed. If Tinubu loses the election, APC will die,” he declared.

I’m still with Labour Party,
Peter Obi insist amid ADC Coalition
Peter Obi has clarified that he remains a committed member of the Labour Party (LP) even as he supports the opposition coalition built around the African Democratic Congress (ADC) ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
Speaking on Sunday, July 6, on Channels TV’s Sunday Politics programme, Obi said his involvement with the ADC-backed coalition should not be interpreted as anti-party behaviour.
“The coalition just adopted a party for 2027. So, we are trying to work together for the sake of Nigeria,” he said.
He explained that his role in the coalition is aimed at building a stronger, united front capable of delivering good governance, not abandoning the Labour Party.
“Today, I am a Labour Party member. I remain in the Labour Party. But we have all agreed to work as a coalition for the 2027 election, and for that, we’ve adopted ADC. Going on, other parties, other individuals will also come in,” Obi said.
The former Anambra governor said the shared goal among the coalition members is to install a competent and credible government to replace the All Progressives Congress (APC) administration led by President Bola Tinubu.
“We want better governance for this country. We want to see a more competent government with capacity and character,” he said.
He also noted that the coalition could expand further, potentially changing party names or including more political actors.
“This coalition might have other parties as it happened in the past, and change the name of the party. I am a member of this (Labour Party) and I am going to work with this group,” he added.
Obi insisted that his support for the ADC-led alliance should not be seen as disloyalty to the LP, adding that the collaboration is targeted at the 2027 elections, not the present.
“No, there is no anti-party. Remember, we said for 2027. We are not in 2027; we are in 2025. It’s clear. We’ve adopted it for 2027.
“So, if I say I am going to be part of your dinner in the evening, that doesn’t mean I should abandon my breakfast and lunch,” Obi said.
