Davido Visit Tinubu As Rumor of Gov. Adeleke’s Detection to APC Escalate More From Peoples Gazette Afrobeats star David ‘Davido’ Adeleke has paid a surprising visit to President Bola Tinubu amid growing speculation about the possible defection of his uncle and Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).Viral videos and photos on social media showed the Grammy-nominated singer alongside some of his associates, including Ubi Franklin, socialite Pascal Chibuike Okechukwu, popularly known as Cubana Chief Priest, and others arriving at the Presidential Villa, where Mr Tinubu welcomed them. The purpose of Davido’s visit to Mr Tinubu was not disclosed. The economy now is in shambles, the exchange rate is messed up, and the price of petroleum is too high.”

FG Begins Payment of#35,000 Wage Award Arrears To Workers

FG Begins Payment of#35,000 Wage Award Arrears To Workers The federal government has commenced the payment of the long-awaited N35,000 wage award arrears to its employees, fulfilling a key part of its commitment to support workers amid prevailing economic challenges.

This was disclosed in a statement issued in Abuja on Monday by the Office of the Accountant General of the Federation (OAGF) and signed by the Director of Press and Public Relations, Mr. Bawa Mokwa.

According to the statement, many federal government employees have already received the first tranche of the payment, while others who are yet to be credited will receive theirs shortly. The arrears are being paid in five instalments of N35,000 each, amounting to a total of N175,000 per beneficiaryThe OAGF also addressed reports circulating in some sections of the media suggesting that the N35,000 wage award had been excluded from the 2025 Budget. The Office clarified that at no point did the Accountant General of the Federation, Mr. Babatunde Ogunjimi, make such a claim.“There was no press briefing by the Accountant General on the matter of wage award,” the statement read.

“Any report quoting him as excluding the N35,000 from the 2025 budget is entirely false.”The Office further stated that all outstanding arrears of the wage award would be settled in line with the government’s assurance to organised labour and public service employees.

The wage award was introduced by the Federal Government as part of palliative measures to cushion the impact of recent subsidy removal and associated economic reforms. It is intended to bridge the gap pending the conclusion of negotiations on a new minimum wage.

The commencement of payment comes after months of anticipation and advocacy from labour unions, who had pressed for the full implementation of the government’s promise. The payment is expected to provide some relief to federal workers, many of whom have been grappling with inflationary pressures and rising cost of living.

The OAGF urged patience from workers who have not yet received their arrears, assuring that the payroll system is actively processing all outstanding entitlements.

He expressed disgust at the decision to allocate massive amounts of money for purchasing vehicles for government officials while citizens are experiencing severe poverty. His words: “Look at the lives of the people, look at what the inflation has done to the pocket expenditure of the ordinary masses on the street. Do you know that in those days, people can buy Corolla, which worker can buy Corolla today?, it is over 10 million naira.“The problem generally is that this Government has been disconnected from the people, you don’t get into government and the first thing you do is spending 150 billion on private jets and over 1 million dollars in buying private cars. God we judged and punish you, PDP Chairman Damagu Tells the Defectors

God we judged and punish you, PDP Chairman Damagu Tells the Defectors In a heartfelt reaction to the wave of defections from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), the acting PDP chairman, Ambassador Umar Damagun, stated firmly that God will be the one to judge and punish the defectors.

His statement points out the depth of betrayal he feels over the exit of several prominent party members, including governors and lawmakers.

Speaking during an interview, which was broadcast by The Sun, Damagun addressed the state of the party and his expectations ahead of the 2027 general elections.

He emphasized that power is temporary and no politician, regardless of their influence or riches, can remain in office indefinitely.

He assured that despite APC’s strategy of luring PDP members, Nigerians would ultimately determine the country’s leadership through their votes.

According to him, the people hold the real power and will speak decisively in the upcoming elections.Responding to concerns about the defections, Damagun admitted the situation is troubling.

“Even in families or businesses, losing one person is painful, not to talk of losing several, including top figures,” he said.

However, he added that no one could be forced to stay in the party against their will.

While expressing disappointment, Damagun said the defectors never accused the PDP of wrongdoing.

“All these years, PDP provided cover and protection for these people, but they chose to abandon the party at this time,” he saidHe likened it to betrayal, stating, “The experience could be likened to someone who provided you with clothes, shelter, and protection for several years, but you wake up one morning and decide that you want to see the person naked; then God will be the one to judge and punish you.

”He expressed confidence that PDP’s internal challenges can be fixed before 2027, and the party will bounce back stronger.

Ex-Lawmaker Hon. Iliasu Ibrahim Demands 2027 APC Governorship Slot For Moro LGA

Ex-Lawmaker Hon. Iliasu Ibrahim Demands 2027 APC Governorship Slot For Moro LGA former member of the Kwara State House of Assembly, Hon. Iliasu Ibrahim Moro, has called for the governorship ticket in the 2027 general elections to be zoned to Moro Local Government Area in Kwara North Senatorial District. The two-term lawmaker made the call while speaking on “Oro Ilu”, a flagship political programme on Sobi FM 101.9, argued that it was time for justice, fairness, and equity to prevail in the state’s political landscape.According to Hon. Ibrahim, Kwara North has never produced a governor since Nigeria returned to democratic rule in 1999, making the demand both timely and necessary.“Our people have been politically marginalised for too long. Since 1999, no one from Kwara North has governed the state. Moro Local Government, in particular, has neither produced a senator nor a House of Representatives member. This is an injustice that must be addressed in 2027,” he said. While there is currently no formal declaration by any political party regarding zoning, stakeholders across the state have continued to advocate for a fair distribution of power among the three senatorial zones Kwara Central, Kwara South, and Kwara North.
