Bandits Strike Tsaragi: Prominent Businessman Abducted in Deadly Midnight

Bandits Strike Tsaragi: Prominent Businessman Abducted in Deadly Midnight Raid
In a shocking and disturbing incident, armed bandits launched a midnight attack on Tsaragi community in Edu Local Government Area of Kwara State, Nigeria, abducting a well-respected businessman, Mr. Suleiman Ndana, around 12:00 midnight on Saturday, September 27, 2025.

Mr. Ndana, popularly known as Ndana manager, is the Chief Executive Officer of Sunnzy Petroleum Nig. Ltd and had recently completed construction of a new fuel station in Yana Kokonna area of Tsaragi. The attackers, operating under the cover of darkness, stormed the community and took Mr. Ndana away to an unknown destination, leaving residents gripped with fear and uncertainty.

The abduction has intensified concerns over insecurity in Edu Local Government and other parts of Kwara State, with community members urgently calling for enhanced security measures and swift intervention from authorities to ensure Mr. Ndana’s safe release. This incident adds to a growing wave of banditry and kidnappings affecting rural communities in Kwara, sparking fears among residents and disrupting local economic activities.¹ ² ³

Earlier reports indicated bandits also attacked two brothers working on their farmland in nearby Lema community, Edu Local Government Area, resulting in one fatality and severe injuries to the other victim. The spate of attacks has led to heightened apprehension among locals, with some government offices like INEC in Patigi and Edu LGAs shutting down due to security threats.

Authorities are yet to comment officially on the abduction or disclose any developments regarding efforts to rescue Mr. Ndana.

CAC, SMEDAN launch free registration for 250,000 MSMEs nationwide

The Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC), in collaboration with the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN), has unveiled a nationwide initiative to provide free business registration for 250,000 nano, micro, and small enterprises.

The partnership was formalised through a Memorandum of Understanding signed in Abuja, where both agencies acknowledged that many entrepreneurs remain trapped in the informal sector due to costs, bureaucracy, and lack of awareness.

SMEDAN Director General, Charles Odii, said the new scheme eliminates these barriers by covering registration costs and integrating beneficiaries into SMEDAN’s MSME database.

This database, he explained, will grant access to grants, technical support, capacity-building programmes, and market linkages.

Registrar-General of the CAC, Hussaini Ishaq Magaji, emphasised that the initiative will break down obstacles to formalisation, noting that by waiving ₦3 billion in registration fees, the government is paving the way for small businesses to achieve legitimacy, growth, and access to wider opportunities.

The free registration drive, aligned with the Federal Government’s Renewed Hope Agenda, is expected to strengthen Nigeria’s MSME ecosystem and foster economic growth.

Both agency heads commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his commitment to empowering small businesses and creating an enabling business environment.

GWR: Mandy Kiss Insists on S£x Marathon with 100 Men Despite Rejection

Nigerian content creator Ayomiposi Oluwadahunsi Adefolarin, popularly known as Mandy Kiss, says she will go ahead with her controversial Guinness World Records (GWR) attempt to have sexual activity with 100 men in 24 hours despite being rejected by the body.

In a video, Mandy Kiss vowed to carry on with the plan, declaring that she would record it herself if GWR refused to monitor the attempt.

Earlier this week, she shared a flyer on social media announcing the attempt, which she claimed would take place on October 30 in Ikorodu, Lagos.

The announcement drew wide attention and reactions online. GWR, however, distanced itself from the event, stressing on its official X (formerly Twitter) page that it does not recognise or endorse such a record attempt.

The record body explained that it could not monitor the act, ruling it out as a valid category.

Responding in a now-viral video, Mandy Kiss expressed her displeasure, saying no one could stop her from carrying out the act.

She said, “Nobody can stop me from sleeping with 100 men, I’m the owner of my pussy. If you don’t record it, I will record it myself.”

Tears in Kwara: Pregnant Woman, Policeman Killed as Bandits Strike Again

Tears in Kwara: Pregnant Woman, Policeman Killed as Bandits Strike Again

Tragedy struck again in Kwara State on Tuesday as suspected armed bandits launched separate deadly attacks in Patigi and Ifelodun local government areas, leaving behind sorrow and fear among residents.

In Matogu village, Patigi LGA a pregnant woman was killed while five others sustained serious injuries during a morning raid that lasted for over three hours.

Our correspondent gathered that the bandits also kidnapped 12 people. While four of the victims later escaped, eight are still being held in captivity. No ransom demand has been made as at the time of filing this report.

One of the injured victims was rushed to the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital for intensive care after doctors at the General Hospital, Patigi, referred him due to the severity of his injuries.

Eyewitnesses told Sobi FM that Kanuri farmers in a nearby village had sighted the gunmen and tried to warn Matogu residents, but poor mobile network frustrated their efforts.

A source in the community lamented that despite alerting the army unit in Patigi ahead of the attack, no help came until much later.

The entire community is deserted. Our people can no longer sleep with their eyes closed. Farms and markets are empty, and our lives are at the mercy of these criminals,” the source said.

He added that the continuous attacks have crippled farming and trade in Patigi and neighbouring LGAs, with residents losing faith in government protection.

In a related development, another tragedy was recorded the same day in Agbonran, Ifelodun LGA, where gunmen attacked a mining site.

A police orderly, Corporal Salisu Shamaki, was shot dead in the ambush. Shamaki, who hailed from Mariga LGA of Niger State, joined the Force in 2017/2018 and left behind a pregnant wife.

Three other policemen reportedly attached to the Chinese miners are still missing, though the expatriates escaped unhurt.

Yobe State Government Launches Ramadan Food Basket Program to Support Vulnerable Households

Yobe State Government Launches Ramadan Food Basket Program to Support Vulnerable Households

The Yobe State government, under the leadership of Governor Mai Mala Buni, has initiated a Ramadan Food Basket program aimed at providing relief to 30,000 vulnerable households across the state. This thoughtful initiative is designed to alleviate food insecurity, particularly during the holy month of Ramadan when needs are heightened.

Key Aspects of the Program
– Beneficiaries: The program targets a diverse group of vulnerable individuals, including internally displaced persons (IDPs), civil servants, teachers, junior staff, resident doctors, those affected by floods, farmers facing poor harvests, and other disadvantaged groups within Yobe State.
– Food Items: The distributed food packages include rice and various condiments, with the program valued at N2 billion.
– Feeding Centers: In a move to enhance outreach, the government has expanded the number of feeding centers from 85 to 102, with many of these centers strategically located within health institutions.
– Funding: An allocation of N297 million has been earmarked for food distribution at these centers.

Governor Mai Mala Buni’s Commitment
Governor Buni reaffirmed his administration’s dedication to improving the welfare of Yobe State’s residents, emphasizing that their efforts extend beyond periodic interventions. He pointed to previous support initiatives, including assistance to flood victims and empowerment programs targeting small business owners, underscoring a broader commitment to community support.

Context and Challenges
Yobe State grapples with significant challenges such as food insecurity and displacement, often exacerbated by conflicts and natural disasters like floods. Programs like the Ramadan Food Basket are thus vital for supporting vulnerable populations. The state government collaborates with international organizations like the World Food Programme (WFP) to address these pressing issues and work towards sustainable solutions.

Looking Ahead
Initiatives like the Ramadan Food Basket program highlight the importance of targeted interventions in addressing food security and supporting those in need. For Yobe State and similar regions, such efforts are crucial in fostering community resilience and welfare.

Would you like me to expand on any aspect, such as the impact of such programs, Governor Buni’s governance, collaborations with international bodies like WFP, or food security challenges facing Nigeria?

The Impact of Illegal Miners on African Insecurity

Illegal mining activities pose significant threats to communities across Africa, contributing to insecurity, environmental degradation, and social challenges. Nigeria is among the countries experiencing such impacts.

Impacts of Illegal Mining

  1. Displacement and cultural disruption: Communities face forced removals affecting traditional ways of life.
  2. Environmental harm: Mining can contaminate water, cause soil erosion, and damage ecosystems vital for local livelihoods.
  3. Violence and insecurity: Illegal miners often use coercive tactics leading to fear, displacement, and human rights concerns.
  4. Health risks: Exposure to pollutants from mining affects community health.

Factors Contributing to Illegal Mining

  • Weak regulatory frameworks: Gaps in laws and enforcement enable illegal activities.
  • Corruption: Can facilitate unauthorized mining operations.
  • Economic drivers: Demand for minerals and poverty fuel illegal mining.
  • Lack of alternatives: Economic pressures push communities toward tolerating or engaging in illegal mining.

Context in Nigeria and Africa

  • Niger Delta oil conflicts in Nigeria highlight longstanding issues over resource extraction.
  • Artisanal and illegal mining of minerals like gold, tin pose environmental and security challenges across Africa.

Empowering Communities
