EMIR OF ILORIN HONORS KWARA UNITED WITH GIANT COW FOR FEDERATION CUP VICTORY

In a grand gesture of celebration and solidarity, the Emir of Ilorin, His Royal Highness Alhaji (Dr) Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari CFR, has gifted a giant cow to Kwara United Football Club in recognition of their historic win at the President Federation Cup. The monarch received the victorious team at his palace, commending their resilience, discipline, and determination throughout the tournament.

The Emir urged the team to build on this success as they prepare for upcoming challenges, including the FA Cup and Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) campaigns. “All eyes are now on you,” he said. “You are the cynosure of Kwara State following this triumph, which has eluded us since the creation of the state.”

He encouraged the players to remain focused and draw inspiration from the late Rashidi Yekini, a football icon and son of Kwara. The Emir also dedicated the victory to Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, acknowledging the state government’s critical support and provision of resources that enabled the team’s participation and success.

The delegation to the Emir’s palace was led by prominent sports officials, including the Executive Chairman of the Kwara State Sports Commission, Mallam Bola Mogaji, and top management staff of Kwara United.

This milestone achievement marks the end of a 49-year title drought for Kwara United and has positioned the club as a beacon of hope and pride for football development in the state.
