from the country.

The US government has passed a law imposing a tax on the dollars Nigerians send home from the country.

The United States government is proposing a bill to tax remittances sent from the country to other countries, including Nigeria, which experts say may pose a setback for the affected countries.

The bill seeks to impose a 3.5% tax on remittances and the money sent by migrants to their home countries and might affect about 40 million non-US citizens, including green card holders, temporary workers and undocumented immigrants.

Almost Every Billionaire You See Today They Stole Government Money, I Won’t get hungry, but if I do – Orji Uzor Kalu

Almost Every Billionaire You See Today They Stole Government Money, I Won’t get hungry, but if I do – Orji Uzor Kalu

Abia North Senator Orji Uzor Kalu has made bold allegations, claiming that a significant number of Nigeria’s billionaires have amassed their fortunes through the theft of government funds. He noted that many of these wealthy individuals were notably absent during the challenging years of 1997 and 1998, implying that their present wealth lacks legitimacy.

In an engaging dialogue with journalist Dele Momodu and fashion designer Seyi Vodi, Kalu expressed that only a select few, including himself, have accumulated their wealth honestly. He asserted that almost everyone you see today who are billionaires stole government money, highlighting a pervasive culture of corruption.

Kalu didn’t hold back, stating that if he were pushed to anger, he would not hesitate to call out specific names of those he believes are involved in corrupt practices. He went further to propose that if the usage of dollars were to be halted, it would expose how these wealthy individuals would struggle to maintain their lifestyles. He emphasized that the ongoing conversion of stolen money into dollars is detrimental to the economy, making it increasingly difficult for ordinary Nigerians to prosper

According to report from DAILY POST, He said,

“Almost everybody you see today who are billionaires stole government money. Those claiming that they have this and that were nowhere in 1997 and 98. I don’t want to get angry, any day i get angry, I will call them out by names.”

Plateau: We Have Already Sworn That Whoever Attacks Mwaghavul, except God, we must go for reprisal

Plateau: We Have Already Sworn That Whoever Attacks Mwaghavul, except God, we must go for reprisal

In times of conflict, emotions often run high, and people sometimes feel the need to defend their communities by any means necessary. This is the situation in Mangu Local Government Area of Plateau State, where recent violence has led to a growing cycle of attacks and counterattacks. At the center of it is the Mwaghavul Youth Movement (MYM), whose leaders have made strong statements about protecting their people.

In a report by Daily Trust, Satmak Bala, the spokesperson for the MYM in Mangu, made it clear that their youth are not the type to start violence. He said the group does not support attacking others without reason. However, he also stated that they have made a firm decision as a community to always fight back if they are attacked first.

According to him, the Mwaghavul people see any attack on their land, people, or culture as something that cannot go unanswered. They believe that failing to respond would mean weakness and could lead to more attacks in the future. For this reason, the youth have taken a stand to protect their chiefdom with or without help from outside.

He emphasized that only God can stop them from responding when their community is harmed. This shows how deeply the people feel about the need to defend themselves. To them, it’s about survival, dignity, and making sure that those who hurt them know there will be consequences.

Satmak also said it was important for the whole world to understand their position. He believes the Mwaghavul people are peaceful but must be ready to fight back when necessary. He called their actions a reprisal—a way of returning the pain they have suffered when their people are killed or attacked.

He said, “I want to assure you that Mwaghavul youth will never go to attack. But we have already sworn that whoever attacks Mwaghavul chiefdom, apart from God, we must go for reprisal. I want you to tell the world that whoever attacks us, we must go for reprisal.

“Settle with Tinubu or Risk Disgraceful Removal” – Primate Ayodele warns Governor Sanwo-Olu

Settle with Tinubu or Risk Disgraceful Removal – Primate Ayodele warns Governor Sanwo-Olu

The leader of the INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele , has issued a strong warning to Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu , urging him to urgently mend reported cracks in his relationship with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu or risk being removed from office.

In a statement released by his media aide, Osho Oluwatosin , Primate Ayodele claimed that powerful political forces are plotting to unseat Sanwo-Olu amid growing speculation of tension between the governor and his political godfather, President Tinubu.

The cleric emphasized that he had foreseen the fallout between the two leaders at the beginning of Sanwo-Olu’s second term, but his warning went unheeded.

“I said it earlier that Sanwo-Olu and Tinubu would fight. The real conflict hasn’t even started. If Sanwo-Olu isn’t careful, he will be removed,” Ayodele said.

He pleaded with President Tinubu to halt any plans aimed at politically undermining the Lagos governor, stressing that the current crisis could lead to Sanwo-Olu’s “ disgraceful removal ” if not resolved quickly.

“I want to beg Tinubu not to allow them to remove Sanwo-Olu. I’m calling on the governor to reconcile and avoid disgrace. Unfortunately, there are no true elders in politics anymore—only opportunists,” Ayodele added.

“Reconciliation is the key to survival” – Ayodele

Primate Ayodele further advised Sanwo-Olu to remain calm, avoid pride, and refrain from listening to aides or associates who may be encouraging him to challenge the situation head-on.

“Sanwo-Olu must understand that people are only with him now because he’s in power. Once he leaves, the respect will vanish. Anyone urging him to be strong-hearted is setting him up for failure. If he doesn’t retrace his steps, he’ll be removed in 2026—and prayers won’t save him then.”

The warning comes at a politically sensitive time as Lagos remains a strategic state in Nigeria’s power structure , and any rift between Sanwo-Olu and Tinubu could have significant implications for both the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and national politics.

People who got married with animals across the world

People who got married with animals across the world

The people who got married to inanimate things from all over the world have been on display for us to see, and I am sure many of us are still perplexed as to what brought them to this point in their lives. To round off this list of people who have fallen in love and married animals and their pets, let’s take a quick look at the stories of people who have fallen in love and married inanimate objects that aren’t living things.

The names of these individuals are listed below.

  1. Selvakumar
In 2007, an Indian guy named Selvakumar had no idea that he would end up marrying a dog at some point in his life, until it was reported that he had stoned two dogs to death.

Selvakumar was forced to marry a dog in order to atone for his crimes of killing two stray dogs although he could have easily spared their lives had he chosen to do so.

  1. Wilhelmina Morgan Callaghan is a young woman from the United Kingdom.
In 2009, this 43-year-old woman from Northern Ireland made the decision to fall in love with and marry her dog. The dog, whose name is Henry, was described by the woman as being trustworthy and obedient.

In addition to the positive things Wilhelmina had to say about Henry, she also stated that he was there for her when she was going through a difficult moment. Isn’t that something to think about?

  1. Joseph Guiso
In 2010, Joseph, an Australian citizen, decided to tie the knot with his Labrador dog in Laurel Bank Park in Toowoomba, Queensland. During that time period, Joseph, who was only 20 years old, described Labrador as his best friend, saying that the dog made every aspect of his day more enjoyable.

Joseph went on to say that he had to be married to the dog because he couldn’t bear the shame of having lived with the dog outside of marriage.

  1. Sharon Tendler
Sharon Tendler, an affluent British lady, fell in love with a dolphin in 2006, and she chose to marry the animal to make their relationship legal. Sharon sealed the knot with the aquatic mammal and even threw a lavish wedding reception to commemorate their nuptials. Sharon was said to have spent millions of dollars on her wedding ceremony, according to reports.

Sharon and the dolphin were married until the dolphin died in 2021 at the age of 39 years, at which point Sharon divorced him. According to reports, Sharon has also determined that she will never remarry, either to a human or to another animal, because her heart belongs to the late dolphin.

Trump appoints 22 years gardener to lead US terror prevention center

Trump appoints 22 years gardener to lead US terror prevention center

In a startling revelation, US President Donald Trump has tasked a 22-year-old ex-gardener, to lead the Centre for Prevention Programs and Partnerships at the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).

Who is Thomas Fugate?

Thomas Fugate has just graduated a year ago from the University of Texas at San Antonia and will now tackle US extremism, ProPublica reported.

Earlier, he was working as a neighbourhood gardener five years ago and in a grocery store in August 2023.

According to Fugate’s LinkedIn, he was working as a self-employed ‘Landscape Business Owner’ in 2020.

Prior to his work as a gardener, Fugate while studying for a degree in politics and law, worked at an H-E-B supermarket in Austin, Texas as a “Cross Functional Team Member”.

The Centre for which Fugate has been tasked, is mainly concerned with terrorism prevention and supports nationwide efforts to combat targeted attacks like hate-fueled violence.

“CP3 strengthens our country’s ability to prevent targeted violence and terrorism nationwide through funding, education, training, evidence-based resources, increased public awareness, and strategic partnerships across every level of government, the private sector, and in local communities,” center’s mission statement on its website read.

Fugate was appointed as a “special assistant” in an immigration office at the DHS in February this year. Moreover, before being tasked at the DHS, Fugate served as an “advance team member” in Trump’s 2024 campaign. He also interned at several political organisations including The Heritage Foundation, widely known as the think tank behind Project 2025, and the Texas House of Representatives.

Fugate’s appointment “sounds like putting the intern in charge,” a counterterrorism researcher, who worked with CP3 officials for years, told ProPublica.

Maybe he’s a wunderkind. Maybe he’s Doogie Howser and has everything at 21 years old, or whatever he is, to lead the office. But that’s not likely the case,” the researcher said.

Federal Government picks 12 Universities to Manufacturing Electric Vehicles

Federal Government picks 12 Universities to Manufacturing Electric Vehicles

The President Bola Ahmed Tinubu-led Federal Government has taken steps to manufacture electric vehicles in the country

The Director-General of the National Automotive Design and Development Council (NADDC) Oluwemimo Osanipin, said 12 universities – two from each geopolitical zone have been selected for the initiative

According to Osanipin, the institutions are designing university shuttle buses that are going to be 100 per cent electric

Uyo, Akwa Ibom state – The President Bola Ahmed Tinubu-led Federal Government has selected 12 universities – two from each of the country’s geopolitical zones – to manufacture electric vehicles.

The Director-General of the National Automotive Design and Development Council (NADDC), Oluwemimo Osanipin, said the initiative will be financed by the Bank of Industry (BoI) and other key financial institutions.

As reported by The Nation, Osanipin explained that the initiative is a part of the “Nigeria First” policy of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration.

He made this known at a stakeholders’ engagement with the Association of Motor Dealers of Nigeria (AMDON) and the Nigeria Automotive Manufacturers Association (NAMA) in Uyo, Akwa Ibom state.

We are working with major assemblers. In terms of the design you are talking about, we have started an initiative where we gather 12 universities – two from each geopolitical zone. They are designing what we call university shuttle buses that are going to be 100 per cent electric

They are going to be designed in Nigeria. Most of the cars will be sourced locally. We are on it. When they finish, we will come together again to work with assemblers and vehicle manufacturers and get support from companies that can finance them, like the Bank of Industry (BoI) and other financial institutions, to be able to produce the vehicles.

Gradually, we are going to have electric vehicles fully designed and manufactured in Nigeria. In preparation for that, we started building stations in certain universities. In the next few months, we will cover nothing less than 10 universities.

“By the time we have this, weather will have built some infrastructure. Gradually, we are building for the future and building the parts.”
