My Senior Brother Okowa Is Trying To Sell APC To His Community, and They Said No – Prof. NwokobiaProfessor Chris Nwokobia,

convener of the Country First Movement, has alleged that former Delta State Governor Ifeanyi Okowa failed to convince his community to support the All Progressives Congress (APC) following his defection from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Speaking during an interview with Arise TV from 16:44, Nwokobia described the APC’s recent actions as fundamentally anti-democratic and counterproductive. “The truth is that the APC has become its own greatest enemy. Let me say in so many ways, and everything it does presently is largely undemocratic,” Nwokobia statedHe cited examples of what he characterized as coercive tactics by APC governors, including demands for resignations from those refusing to defect. “You see the words coming out of Akwa Ibom state, where the governor is saying that if you’re not moving with me to the APC, you have to resign,” he said. The professor specifically highlighted events in Delta State, where he claims Okowa’s attempts to promote the APC met with local resistance. “Then you move to Delta State, where there was a celebration and some fiesta of sorts of the movement of the people from the PDP to the APC. And then you saw the former governor of Delta state, my senior brother Okowa was trying to sell the APC to the people in his community, and they said No, this is not what we know. This is not the party we believe in,” Nwokobia alleged. He described the APC’s response to this rejection as a series of increasingly desperate public gatherings designed to create an impression of popular support. “And anxious to give a semblance of public acceptance, they moved from a convergence in Northwest addressed by the governor of Kaduna state to a convergence in Abuja addressed by several governors to another one in Lagos addressed by the governor of Imo state, and they call themselves a progressive party,” he said.Despite the wave of defections, Nwokobia argued that opposition parties remain resilient and are reorganizing for greater effectiveness. “But the political parties are reorganizing to find, to form a stronger position. But importantly, if there is any movement or party that is jittery in today’s Nigeria, it is the APC,” he claimed. The professor suggested that the ruling party’s focus on defections reveals underlying insecurity about its electoral prospects. “That is why they have left governance to continue to tell us about their ability to form a one-party state and to continue to tell us about no vacancy in 2027,” Nwokobia said.Beyond the defection controversy, Nwokobia made more serious allegations about the APC’s role in destabilizing opposition parties. He claimed that recent statements from APC stakeholders demonstrate orchestrated efforts to undermine political rivals from withinAccording to him, the ruling party has developed a strategy of using insiders within opposition parties to create internal chaos ahead of the 2027 elections. He argued that this represents a deliberate attempt to weaken democratic competition through manipulation rather than legitimate political competition.

Nigeria’ The Rich Country Govern by Selfish Leader, Using poverty for their political strategy to be controlling the masses.

By: Comr. Sulaiman Abdulfatai O.

CEO Saolegend.com

Nigeria is blessed with sufficient natural and human resources but the leadership has been the major problem of this country they seen corruption as normal business in politics they don’t always care about the warfare of the citizens but themselves.
The current government has increased the hardship on the citizens by introducing the policies that is not favored the masses, removed the subside on all what people are enjoying like Electricity and Petroleum, Inflate the tuition fee beyond tha ability of the poor people, Inflate the tax rate.

What bothering is that the set of the current leader are benefited from good governance in this country,
They enjoyed Free Education with special treatments, Collecting Allowance, Direct Employment.
Now the same set of people that benefit from good governance of the past leaders are the that make things difficult for masses, The same set of people that benefit from free education are the ine that makes education unbearable for the youth, what can we call this?
Bad Leaders?
Selfish Leaders?
Wicked Leaders?
Corrupt Leaders?
Whatever name you call them they deserve it.
Nigeria leaders needs to think beyond given food items or whatever things they call palliative Nigerians are more than that every Nigerian youth are blessed with a raw talent with can enrich their pocket but government policies is not allowed most Nigerian two eat twice in a tankless of think about their potential.
I plead with government at all level especially Federal Government and State Government to review those policies that brought hardship to the masses, make policies that we not only benefit the riches, politicians but also the police that would favor both rich and common people.
Federal Government should enforce all the State government to implement supreme Court judgement on Autonomy to Local Government, Invest wildly in security, agriculture and make sure they fight corruption and always do the project that would be direct benefit to the masses, find all the possible means to stabilize the electricity this could create millions of job because it will give youth opportunity to use electricity to power their talent through machines and technology.

Police Trust Found Boss Reveal How Much Each Nigerian Police Station gets as imprest.

The Executive Secretary of the Nigeria Police Trust Fund (NPTF), Mohammed Sheidu, has decried the chronic underfunding of the Nigerian Police Force, describing the current financial allocations to police stations as “meagre” and wholly inadequate to support effective policing in the country. In an exclusive interview with The Nation newspaper, Sheidu revealed that each police station receives just N45,000 per quarter, equivalent to N15,000 monthly and about N500 daily, as imprest to cover their operational costs.“Police stations are given N45,000 quarterly for imprest. If you like, call it running cost or operational cost, it’s N45,000 for a quarter. Do the math, per day. So, how much to fuel, to file? If there’s diesel, there’s no light. That’s why the type of stations we build now, one of the first things we looked at is: how do we provide stable power to run even basic operations?”, he said.According to Sheidu, many police officers operate in near-impossible conditions, forced to perform their duties with little to no institutional support.“The officers we see every day are miracle workers. They are living and functioning by miracle. They wear their uniform by miracles. There is nothing really there to actually support them fully to discharge their duties. It does not exist”, he said.He further emphasised that the entire structure of police funding needs urgent reform, stressing that fuel allocations from the central budget, for instance, are insufficient to power patrol vehicles throughout the year.“The IG said it. The budget reallocation for just fuelling of cars cannot run them the whole year. If they are lucky, is it four months or eight months a year?. So what happens to the remaining months? Where do you expect them to get funding for fuel to move around like you?” he asked rhetorically. On the legal funding framework for the Police Trust Fund, Sheidu noted that despite constitutional provisions for dedicated revenue streams, many of them remain either contested or unremitted.“There’s the 0.5% of the FAAC allocation, but as of 2022, some states took us to court, so that hasn’t been flowing in. Then there’s 0.005% of the net profit of all companies operating in Nigeria. That’s about N50,000 for every N1 billion in profit—very small. And even that was not collected until 2022 when FIRS finally began remitting”, he explained. He acknowledged that while the Federal Inland Revenue Service has since improved collection, the Trust Fund still faces severe shortfalls due to unresolved legal disputes and non-compliance by some funding sources. In a bid to bridge the gap, Sheidu said the Trust Fund is turning to strategic partnerships with other government agencies, including the Rural Electrification Agency (REA), to address infrastructural challenges in police stations.“REA’s mandate is rural electrification—it’s to light up places. My own mandate, I can build police stations. So we asked: how do you help me light up police stations? We now have that collaboration ongoing,” he said.

Saraki Leads PDP Reconciliation Talks In Enugu to Avert South-Fallout

In a renewed effort to quell internal tensions threatening the cohesion of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), former Senate President Dr. Bukola Saraki on Friday, May 23, 2025, led a high-powered reconciliation delegation to meet with Enugu State Governor and South East PDP leader, Dr. Peter Mbah.

The closed-door meeting, held at the Enugu State Government House, was the first stop for the newly reconstituted Special Reconciliation and Strategy Committee, tasked by the PDP Governors’ Forum with ensuring unity ahead of the party’s upcoming National Executive Council (NEC) meeting and a likely national convention.

Also present at the meeting were committee members and former governors Senator Seriake Dickson of Bayelsa State and Dr. Ibrahim Dankwambo of Gombe State.

The visit follows rising tensions within the South East PDP over the national secretary position vacated by Senator Samuel Anyanwu.

In a communique issued last week, the South East PDP Zonal Executive Council (ZEC) re-nominated former PDP National Youth Leader, Hon. Sunday Udeh-Okoye, to complete the remainder of Anyanwu’s tenure.

The ZEC warned of a potential mass exit from the party if its decision is not respected.

In the event that our position is not promptly implemented by the Party, the South East PDP, as a family, will be compelled to reconsider our relationship with the PDP going forward,” the communique stated.

Speaking to journalists after Friday’s engagement, Saraki described the meeting as “very useful” and said it marked the beginning of efforts to reset the party’s internal dynamics.

“We are members of the PDP Reconciliation and Strategy Committee that was set up recently by the PDP Governors’ Forum to work towards ensuring that our upcoming National Executive Council meeting and also likely convention is rancor-free and works smoothly”

Saraki said He praised Governor Mbah’s leadership in the region and the performance of his administration, calling it “a reflection for Nigerians to see what happens when you have a PDP government.”

“This is the first state we are coming to because we appreciate the importance of the South East in our PDP family,” Saraki said.

3“The South East has played a key role as the bedrock of the popularity and the strength of our party.”

While the delegation did not announce any final resolutions, Saraki noted that the discussions had provided a solid foundation for renewed unity.

“With this, we can say here in Enugu we laid the foundation for a greater new PDP that is coming,” he said.

He acknowledged the magnitude of the internal challenges but expressed confidence in the collective will of the party’s leadership to resolve them.

What we have also seen today is that there is nothing insurmountable in the challenge ahead and the spirit, the commitment of all of us, especially our leaders, is very, very inspiring,” he added.

Pope Leo XIV Meets Roman Crucial First Time Since Election.

Pope Leo XIV took his message of building bridges and promoting dialogue to the Roman Curia on Saturday, in his first audience with members of the Catholic Church’s governing body.

The late Pope Francis had sometimes difficult relations with the Curia and Vatican officials, accusing them early in his papacy of “spiritual Alzheimer’s” and a lust for power.

The new pontiff, the first from the United States, said Saturday that his inaugural meeting was an opportunity to say thanks for all their work.

“Popes come and go, the Curia remains,” Leo told the audience of officials, staff and their families in the Vatican’s vast Paul VI hall.

He repeated his first words from St Peter’s Basilica when he became pope on May 8, where he urged people to “build bridges” and to welcome “with open arms, everyone who needs our charity, our presence, dialogue and love”.

“If we must all cooperate in the great cause of unity and love, let us try to do so first of all with our behaviour in everyday situations, starting from the work environment,” the pope said.

“Everyone can be a builder of unity with their attitudes towards colleagues, overcoming inevitable misunderstandings with patience and humility, putting themselves in the shoes of others, avoiding prejudices, and also with a good dose of humour, as Pope Francis taught us.”

From decentralising power and increasing transparency to providing greater roles for lay people and women, Francis implemented several reforms of the Roman Curia.

But his criticism left a lasting impression among many officials, and he also drew accusations of being too authoritarian in his governance, regularly bypassing the administrative bodies of the Holy See

In 2024, the Vatican — where trade unions are not recognised — also saw an unprecedented strike by around 50 employees of the Vatican Museums over their working conditions.

The pope spent two decades working in Peru but for the past two years was head of the Vatican department responsible for appointing bishops worldwide.

FG Rolls Out Nationwide Livestock Empowerment Programme, Targets 1000 Youths Per State

The federal government said in 2024 that it would be investing heavily in livestock production as a means to reduce the farmer-herder clashes.

Part of the plans include the conversion of the Obudu Cattle Ranch into a livestock hub to power dairy production in Nigeria

The federal government has also outlined plans to empower 1000 youths in each state to go into a livestock project aided by technology

In 2024, President Bola Tinubu said his administration would be turning the tragic situation caused by farmer-herders conflict into an economic opportunity by investing in the sector.

The president stated that the targeted investments would attract youths into the sector and also eradicate hunger and poverty in Nigeria .

In line with that plan, the federal government has rolled out a nationwide empowerment programme that will revamp the livestock value chain in Nigeria.

The programme will deploy Artificial Intelligence (AI), Internet of Things (IoT) and other technological innovations to address the challenges in livestock production.

The Minister of Livestock Development, Alhaji Idi Maiha, disclosed this at the end of a 4-day Hack4Livestock Hackathon competition held at Galaxy Backbone Building, Abuja , during the week.

The Minister who was represented by his Special Adviser, Eustace Iyayi, noted that it was time to start leveraging digital platforms to drive growth in Nigeria’s livestock industry.

Speaking further about the empowerment programme, the Minister said the programme will be used to promote women’s empowerment and diversity.

He disclosed that the Nigerian Livestock Growth Acceleration Strategy was developed to empower youths in Nigeria to move into different parts of the livestock value chain with the support of technology.

He said;

“We plan to capacitate 1,000 youths per state, including diversity across the country, in different values in the livestock sector. We are aware that this digital project is going to be very helpful in doing that.”

The event was organised by the National Centre for Artificial Intelligence and Robotics, together with the Ministry of Communications, Innovation, and Digital Economy and the Ministry of Livestock Development, the NATION news reports.

FG Reveals Categories of Nigerians That Can Purchase Emefiele’s 753 Houses

Following the seizure of a massive property of 753 from the former governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Godwin Emefiele, the Federal Government has announced plans to sell off the buildings.

Badamasi Haiba, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Housing said the property would be sold in collaboration with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

According to Haiba, the houses in an estate will be sold to low and middle-income Nigerians.

Speaking in an interview with Punch, Haiba said the FG is committed to ensuring that ordinary Nigerians benefit from the sale of the forfeited property.

However, noting that the estate is still under construction, Haiba said his ministry would start by conducting an assessment of the property before the initiation of the sale.

He said, “Next would be to profile the houses and decide how they will be sold to Nigerians.

“However, the intention of the minister has always been homeownership for all categories of Nigerians, including low and middle-income earners – so we should expect to see such intentions play out here, all-inclusive,” Haiba said.

He also assured the public that the FG would incorporate a flexible payment plan to ensure the houses are purchased by those who need them.

The order came at the close of the COAS Bi-Annual Conference in Maiduguri on Friday, where top army generals gathered for three days to strategize on safeguarding national peace and security.
