Once You Convicted You Can’t Be President, Governor – EFCC Boss Warns Nigerian Students
The Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ola Olukoyede, has warned students that engaging in criminal activities will bar them from holding public offices, including the offices of President and Governor, if convicted.According to Olukoyede, anyone involved in financial crimes is headed for jail and will lose the opportunity to hold public office.
“Once convicted, such a person becomes an ex-convict and loses the opportunity to hold any public office in Nigeria. That is a heavy price to pay for associating with the wrong crowd,” he said.
Olukoyede advised students to avoid bad company and surround themselves with good friends, saying, “To secure a brighter future, you must get it right from the beginning. Surround yourself with good people, friends, and acquaintances that will help you grow in wisdom and integrity.”
