2027: We’re Prepared for Political Sabotage and Internal Betrayal – Malami

2027: We’re Prepared for Political Sabotage and Internal Betrayal – Malami

Former Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami (SAN), has declared that the newly formed opposition coalition is fully prepared to resist internal sabotage, infiltration, and the challenges posed by personal ambitions as it positions itself to contest the 2027 presidential election.

Speaking in an interview withDaily Trust, Malami acknowledged that coalitions are often vulnerable to betrayal and conflict, but stressed that the alliance is determined to stay united and focused.

“In a political arrangement, you cannot rule out any possibility, including the possibility of infiltration,” Malami said. “But one fundamental thing is, we are resolved to continue, we shall continue, and we shall overcome. We are working to overcome any challenge as it arises.”

The former minister’s remarks come a week after the coalition formally adopted the African Democratic Congress (ADC) as its platform to challenge the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 elections.

Malami, who served under former President Muhammadu Buhari, emphasized that crisis and sabotage are common risks in political collaborations.

“You cannot rule out the possibility of a crisis, you cannot rule out the possibility of infiltration, nor can you rule out all other negative possibilities,” he said. “We are resolved to overcome them. We work in the direction of overcoming them. That is the most fundamental and critical issue about it.”

Responding to concerns about how personal ambition might fracture the alliance, Malami said political ambition is inevitable but must be managed with internal discipline.

“Political engagement includes personal ambitions,” he said. “But the most important thing is how hard you work in managing them. Ambitions are meant to be managed, and we are resolved to manage them as they arise.”

The coalition, which includes major opposition figures like Atiku Abubakar, Peter Obi, Nasir el-Rufai, and Rotimi Amaechi, has generated significant public interest as it attempts to form a united political front to challenge the dominance of the APC in the next election cycle.

2027: Trump want Tinubu Removed, Coalition will Use US Gov. Atiku and Obi may upset Tinubu – AyodeleRewrite only

Primate Elijah Ayodele has warned that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu may lose the 2027 presidential election if key opposition leaders, Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi, join forces, as reported by The Sun on Sunday, 6th July, 2025.

The popular prophet made this statement while unveiling his latest prophecy book, Warnings to the Nations 2025/2026, in Lagos.

Ayodele said both Atiku and Obi are serious about taking power from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

According to him, if the two men form an agreement, they could give Tinubu a strong challenge in 2027.

The prophet also claimed that the planned coalition of opposition parties might gain foreign support, especially from the United States.

He said the coalition would use the US government to mount pressure on Tinubu’s administration.

He went further to say that former U.S. President Donald Trump is one of those backing efforts to remove Tinubu from power.

Ayodele warned that Tinubu must take this threat seriously.

He noted that losing the next election could lead to the complete collapse of the APC.

“Atiku and Obi are very serious and may upset Tinubu if they reach an understanding. The coalition would use the US government to fight Tinubu. Trump is one of those who want Tinubu removed. If Tinubu loses the election, APC will die,” he declared.

I’m still with Labour Party,Peter Obi insist amid ADC Coalition

I’m still with Labour Party,
Peter Obi insist amid ADC Coalition

Peter Obi has clarified that he remains a committed member of the Labour Party (LP) even as he supports the opposition coalition built around the African Democratic Congress (ADC) ahead of the 2027 presidential election.

Speaking on Sunday, July 6, on Channels TV’s Sunday Politics programme, Obi said his involvement with the ADC-backed coalition should not be interpreted as anti-party behaviour.

“The coalition just adopted a party for 2027. So, we are trying to work together for the sake of Nigeria,” he said.

He explained that his role in the coalition is aimed at building a stronger, united front capable of delivering good governance, not abandoning the Labour Party.

“Today, I am a Labour Party member. I remain in the Labour Party. But we have all agreed to work as a coalition for the 2027 election, and for that, we’ve adopted ADC. Going on, other parties, other individuals will also come in,” Obi said.

The former Anambra governor said the shared goal among the coalition members is to install a competent and credible government to replace the All Progressives Congress (APC) administration led by President Bola Tinubu.

“We want better governance for this country. We want to see a more competent government with capacity and character,” he said.

He also noted that the coalition could expand further, potentially changing party names or including more political actors.

“This coalition might have other parties as it happened in the past, and change the name of the party. I am a member of this (Labour Party) and I am going to work with this group,” he added.

Obi insisted that his support for the ADC-led alliance should not be seen as disloyalty to the LP, adding that the collaboration is targeted at the 2027 elections, not the present.

“No, there is no anti-party. Remember, we said for 2027. We are not in 2027; we are in 2025. It’s clear. We’ve adopted it for 2027.

“So, if I say I am going to be part of your dinner in the evening, that doesn’t mean I should abandon my breakfast and lunch,” Obi said.

I’m Ready to Be One Term President, Power Must Remain in the South – Amaechi

I’m Ready to Be One Term President, Power Must Remain in the South – Amaechi

Former Transportation Minister, Rotimi Amaechi, has declared his readiness to serve as President for a single term, should he be elected in 2027. Amaechi emphasized his commitment to the rotational presidency arrangement between the North and South, stressing that the South should be allowed to complete its tenure.

As a key member of the opposition coalition led by former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, Amaechi’s stance comes as the group prepares to challenge President Bola Tinubu and the ruling APC in the 2027 general elections. The coalition has recently partnered with the African Democratic Congress (ADC), appointing former Senate President David Mark and ex-Osun Governor Rauf Aregbesola to key positions.

Amaechi warned that the North must respect the zoning arrangement, allowing the South to conclude its eight-year tenure in 2027. His comments underscore the complexities of Nigeria’s power dynamics and the ongoing debate around rotational presidency.

2027: Malami Dumps APC, Joins ADC Over National Concerns

2027: Malami Dumps APC, Joins ADC Over National Concerns

Former Minister of Justice and Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami (SAN), has resigned from the All Progressives Congress (APC) and joined the African Democratic Congress (ADC). Malami cited national interest as the reason for his decision, stating that it was made after “deep reflection and broad consultations.”

Reasons for Leaving APC

Malami expressed concerns over the deteriorating security and economic conditions in northern Nigeria, particularly the rise of banditry, kidnappings, and terrorism. He accused the APC-led government of prioritizing political interests over citizens’ safety and welfare.

Critique of APC

Malami criticized the APC for sidelining good governance, saying appointments and policies favor political loyalty over national development. He stated that the party has become a system that “watches in silence as Nigerians suffer and die.”

Why ADC?

Malami joined the ADC because it stands for justice, competence, and national renewal, aligning with his values and vision for Nigeria’s future. The ADC is building a broad opposition coalition ahead of the 2027 general elections, aiming to rescue the country from its current trajectory and restore hope to the people.

If Wike Can Stay in PDP Work in APC, We Can Also Stay in PDP Work in Coalition – Ologbondiyan

If Wike Can Stay in PDP Work in APC, We Can Also Stay in PDP Work in Coalition – Ologbondiyan

A former National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Kola Ologbondiyan, has stirred debate over party loyalty and coalition politics. He argues that PDP members can remain in the party and still align with a broader political coalition aimed at unseating the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2027.

Ologbondiyan cites the example of Minister Nyesom Wike, who remains a PDP member but supports President Bola Tinubu’s APC-led government and has declared support for Tinubu’s 2027 re-election bid. “If Wike can stay in the PDP and work with the APC, we can also stay in the PDP and join the coalition,” Ologbondiyan stated.

He highlights the fluidity of party affiliations in the current political landscape and expresses concerns over pressure on PDP governors to defect to APC, alleging intimidation and coercion. Ologbondiyan notes that President Tinubu’s intervention in the Rivers political crisis has weakened PDP’s standing in the state and reflects APC’s growing influence in opposition strongholds.

According to Ologbondiyan, external interference and targeted pressure have created a hostile environment for opposition figures, contributing to PDP’s instability.

Mass Defection Hits Osun as PDP, Omoluabi Members Join APC Ahead of 2026 Governorship Poll

Mass Defection Hits Osun as PDP, Omoluabi Members Join APC Ahead of 2026 Governorship Poll

Scores of members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the Omoluabi Progressive Group, loyal to former Governor Rauf Aregbesola, have defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State.

The mass defection took place over the weekend during a ceremony organised by the APC in Ejigbo Local Government Area and held at the Ilupeju Multipurpose Hall.

Receiving the defectors, Senator Mudashiru Husain, the Ejigbo APC apex leader and governorship hopeful, described the development as a major boost for the party ahead of the 2026 governorship election.

Husain noted that despite APC’s current position as the opposition party in Osun, its ranks continue to swell due to what he called “purposeful and inclusive leadership.”

He said the influx of new members from PDP and Omoluabi Group was evidence of growing support for APC’s ideals of social welfarism, economic growth, and human capital development, championed by President Bola Tinubu.

“The team spirit among our leaders in Ejigbo is working. Our efforts have yielded results, and this is just the beginning,” Husain stated.

He urged the new defectors to remain steadfast in their commitment to progressive politics, assuring them of fairness and equal opportunities within the party.

Speaking on his governorship ambition, Husain said it was not a do-or-die affair but a responsibility grounded in loyalty, experience, and grassroots acceptance.

Leaders of the defectors, Hon. Wole Olajire of the Omoluabi Group and Hon. Kareem Mubarak from PDP, cited disillusionment with their former platforms and confidence in APC’s leadership as reasons for their move.

Ejigbo LG Chairman, Hon. Ayegbayo Gbolahan, West LCDA Chairman, Hon. Olayanju Kolapo, and APC LG Chairman, Hon. Lateef Adegoke, also pledged full support to the new members and committed to working for APC’s victory in 2026.

“Nasarawa is proof that Renewed Hope is not theory. It is delivery. We must keep building.” – President Tinubu

“Nasarawa is proof that Renewed Hope is not theory. It is delivery. We must keep building.” – President Tinubu

I recently had the privilege of visiting Nasarawa, where I witnessed firsthand the impact of focused, people-centered leadership.

The state is making significant strides in infrastructure development, job creation, and empowering women and vulnerable groups.

Strategic Investments

The projects commissioned, including the Lafia Flyover and State Secretariat Complex, demonstrate Governor Sule’s commitment to building a better future for Nasarawa’s citizens. These investments will have a lasting impact on the state’s growth and development.

Mindset Shift

What impresses me most is the mindset shift in Nasarawa. The state is prioritizing peace, security, and the well-being of its citizens. Governor Sule’s provision of operational vehicles to security agencies is a testament to this commitment.

Empowering Women and Vulnerable Groups

I was pleased to launch the Renewed Hope Social Impact Program for Women, Children, and Families. This initiative will empower rural households, women farmers, and vulnerable families with practical tools for transformation.

A Model for Others

Nasarawa’s progress is a shining example for other states to follow. I commend Governor Sule for his dedication to peace, security, and development.

The federal government will continue to support states that are serious about delivery.

Renewed Hope in Action

Nasarawa is proof that Renewed Hope is not just a theory, but a reality. We must continue to build on this momentum and work towards a brighter future for all Nigerians.

Tinubu Supported June 12 Annulment, Not Part of Pro-Democracy Struggle – Lamido

Tinubu Supported June 12 Annulment, Not Part of Pro-Democracy Struggle – Lamido

Former Jigawa State Governor Sule Lamido has made a stunning claim about President Bola Tinubu’s role in Nigeria’s democratic history. According to Lamido, Tinubu supported the annulment of the June 12, 1993 presidential election, which was widely regarded as Nigeria’s freest and fairest poll. Lamido stated this during an interview on Arise Television, where he questioned Tinubu’s pro-democracy credentials

Key Points Lamido Made Against Tinubu:

  • Supported June 12 Annulment: Lamido claims Tinubu was “actively hand-in-glove” with General Ibrahim Babangida, who nullified the election.
  • Mother’s Role: He alleged that Tinubu’s mother, Hajia Abibatu Mogaji, mobilized Lagos market women to Abuja to show support for Babangida’s regime.
  • NADECO’s Purpose: Lamido said the National Democratic Coalition (NADECO), which Tinubu later joined, was formed to fight General Sani Abacha’s regime, not specifically to demand the validation of MKO Abiola’s presidential win.
  • Tinubu’s Rise to Prominence: According to Lamido, Tinubu only became noticeable after Abacha took over the government, suggesting his pro-democracy activism was opportunistic

Lamido’s assertions directly challenge the popular narrative of Tinubu’s contributions to Nigeria’s democratic struggle. These claims have added fuel to the ongoing debates about Tinubu’s legacy and role in shaping Nigeria’s political landscape.
